The brown Soil pants of Rhumaa is made of 100% Tencel fabric. The relaxed fitted trousers have an elastic waistband with drawstrings, two side pockets and two placket back pockets. The pants have a cropped ankle length and the Tencel fabric gives a soft and comfortable feel.
Combine these pants with a bright top to give the look more colour. A tucked in blouse for a sophisticated look with some heels. But a t-shirt with sneakers gives a perfect casual everyday style.
Rhumaa was established in 2014; founded by Daniel Beernink from The Netherlands and since 2015 the company is owned by Daniel Beernink and business partner and investor Ton van Vuren. Daniel fell in love with South Africa and the creative wealth of the country after visiting Cape Town in 2011. A year later, the idea to work with talented artists and their stories grew. The Rhumaa concept was born to show-case personal art stories through the cultural expression of fashion.
Every collection is translated from the story behind the art into beautiful, natural fabrics and fashion designs. Whilst Africa remains the key inspiration, Rhumaa looks for interesting stories and art they believe most people can relate to. They pride themselves in being an honest storytelling fashion brand. Rhumaa works hard to deliver sustainable business practices and partner with ethical change-makers in aim of making a difference. They gives 5% of every sale back to a skills development program in South Africa to support their drive.
Rhumaa believes in honest-made clothing with a real story and helping the world get closer to understanding diversity and cultural acceptance with every collection.
Lyocell or the branded name, Tencel®, is a more environmentally friendly substitute for viscose. It is of botanic origin, since it is extracted from the raw material wood. Tencel fabrics have a beautiful drape, allow your skin to 'breathe' and don’t absorb odors. The fabrics has a luxurious look and feel and is very comfortable to wear!
Tencel is sustainable because the fabric is biodegradable, made of renewable material and attention is paid to sourcing wood pulp from sustainably managed forests. Other environmental benefits are that there is no bleaching needed before processing as the fiber is very ‘clean’ by itself. The energy, water and chemical consumption is reduced to a minimum due to the unique closed loop production process. And you can launder clothing made of tencel effectively at a low temperature.
