The black and white tee tencelmix of wunderwerk is a two piece t-shirt, the white part is made of 30% organic cotton, 30% modal and 40% tencel. The black part is made of 100% tencel. This short sleeved t-shirt has a straight fit, a round neck line and a layered front side. The underlayer is white made of the same fabric as the top of the shirt. The layer over the white is made of black tencel which is sewn only at the top.
This two-coloured tee is good to combine with a simple bottom. Like a blue jeans. Or if you like to go graphic: a black and white striped tight skirt will do the trick. This will give your outfit a fashionable look.
Wunderwerk stands for the interaction of fashionable design, comfortable fit and high quality sustainable manufacture throughout the entire production and supply chain. Sustainability is one of the most important values of the label. Respect for human, nature and animals are paramount and is carried through the entire manufacturing process. Both founders are surf- and ocean lovers and therefore the label avoids ‘’plastics’’ in the collection as far as possible.
Lyocell or the branded name, Tencel®, is a more environmentally friendly substitute for viscose. It is of botanic origin, since it is extracted from the raw material wood. Tencel fabrics have a beautiful drape, allow your skin to 'breathe' and don’t absorb odors. The fabrics has a luxurious look and feel and is very comfortable to wear!
Tencel is sustainable because the fabric is biodegradable, made of renewable material and attention is paid to sourcing wood pulp from sustainably managed forests. Other environmental benefits are that there is no bleaching needed before processing as the fiber is very ‘clean’ by itself. The energy, water and chemical consumption is reduced to a minimum due to the unique closed loop production process. And you can launder clothing made of tencel effectively at a low temperature.
What makes organic cotton a better choice than conventional cotton? First of all, organic cotton doesn’t need chemical fertilizers and less water to grow. Secondly, when cotton is organically grown the land stays fertile for a much longer period of time than when conventional cotton is grown on that same field. Growing organic cotton has a positive effect on the lives, health and incomes of the farmers. And organic cotton is healthier for the wearer!
